September 12-14 in Trinidad CA.

I just talked to the desk at Emerald Forest in Trinidad

http://cabinsintheredwoods.com/page.asp?id=Reservations

As of right now, he still has these cabins available:

(2) - 4 person cabins
(1) - 8 person cabin
(5) - 2 person cabins

Plus there are still RV and tent sites available.

If you're a slug you should be there! (BS# not required. Mebbe now's
your chance to get one!) If you just want to ride in great scenery and
hang out and have a good time you should be there.

Positive.  Th' Ol' man did a family geneology search on da fambly,
hoping to find greatness, I presume.  Instead, he quit after he found
out we come from a line of Dutch pirates who'd rape/pillage and did
all that pirate kinda stuff.  Mostly preyed on th' Portuguese merchant
ships.  I think there was some slave trading in there too.  He's been
a broken man ever since <snerk>.

We might've kicked some mick a.s tho, does that count?

Family on my dad's side is from Scotland. My dad did the family tree thing,
thinking we'd end up related to William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, or some such
crapola......pretty much found we were from a fairly large family of robbers and
thieves.

> We might've kicked some mick a.s tho, does that count?

Could.......that's my mom's side of the family, before they turned all Mormon
and stuff.....and then walked to Salt Lake City with hand carts and sh.t back in
the day.

Getting there. I ride a bit every week or so, but it's been DAMN hot down here
this summer, and the Mrs. has kept me busy lately with laminate floors, laying
tile in a bathroom (just the one so far, 2 more on the list). Not to speak of
all the time, money, and effort to get the water int he pool to clear up...which
was a losing battle. Will just have to wait till things cool off and
drain/refill it.

Just did the 20K service on the bike, new rubber....and that suspension mod you
don't like. Starting to cobble together the ride up to Redbeard's place in
October. Might need to do a battery before I go, seems OK...I keep it on the
tender when I'm not riding it....but it's about 3 1/2 years old and......

Sure hate to get out just shy of Barstow and have it go tits up........

Gonna break the boredom and head for Cabo in about a week.......I've got a
tekillya tasting session booked.....<sfsf>

It's not so much that I don't like it, I just don't trust it.  And
even more than that, hearing about one of youse guys goin' down
because of it is gonna piss me off.

Just being anywhere near Barstow gives me th' willies.  I got 5 years
outta my last battery and it even got me through Barstow once.

The snakes I've been finding around my place are too small......about the
diameter of a pencil and up to a foot long.

Bull/gopher snakes.

Gal at the end of the block got a 3 foot rattler in her backyard a few weeks ago
with her lawn mower. Damn thing came up out of a hole in the ground next to a
sprinkler head and came after her.......she pretty much said "f.ck You!!" and
ground him to bits with the Toro......
