It was 110 at my house, yesterday. I went riding in the morning, but that
was about it.
Did honeydos in the truck for the rest of the day.
Might ride up to Newcomb's for breakfast, this morning. After taking the
Buell for it's 5000 mile service.

You don't live in Phoenx.

Damn. I never knew that. Do you ???

I merely read the official weather reports. And harass my
friend in Phoenix about it by email. Yesterday afternoon was 115.
If you want to argue the point, argue it with them.

Rode across the valley from the Hollywood Bowl to Ventura yesterday around
three. 110+ from Hollywood to Woodland Hills. Cooled down to 108 through
Thousand Oaks.
Oh how I love Ventura. Was 88 along Central Ave through the strawberries and
it felt like heaven. ;-)

Last year when I went to Vegas it was 105-110 every day. But it was a
dry heat and felt fine. Is it dry or humid out your way?

A little on the humid side this time of year. 80's and 90's are okay. It's
when it gets over 100 that things get dicey. ;-)

I think my place is ~3 miles to the beach, as the crow flies. It's 5
miles by road. That means the weather at my house is perfect - a
pleasant 80. I don't get the coastal fog, but I do get coastal
cooling. The breeze comes up the canyon, and sitting on the deck
watching redtail hawks while my buddy & I sip beer is just about the
definition of "the good life." I rode to the beach this morning, had
fun, then rode home. That may be the extent of my riding today. I
need to spend some time in the garden. The tomatos and strawberries
need picking, the grapes are getting riper, the guavas, avocados,
persimmon and passion fruit need tending, and I gotta keep the gophers
away from the cherimoyas. Really, I love days like this. Life ain't
too shabby.

We only have one green tomatoe, the peppers and potatoes are doing well. I
think I killed the radishes, I mistook them for weeds, rats! Leeks and
garlic look good also. I gave up on Strawberries, the birds kept eating
them. Cilantro and Basil also doing ok. I can't wait to make fresh pico de
gallo. As usual the mint and parsley can't be killed.
Only 95f today. Ride pics later, once my son-in-law's web site is back up.

My wife's niece has a condo in Huntington Beach that's about a mile
and a half from the beach I think if you take the bike path through a
green belt. She said it never gets warmer than about 84. It's a
different story at my Aunt's home in Riverside of course. Here in
Anchorage we hit a high of 67 F yesterday but a breezy 59 today.
STILL waiting for summer,
Robert
