After my trusty 76 Wing became untrustworthy and threw a rod I began looking
around and found an interesting project. I do have a spare GL-1000 engine
but haven't installed it yet.

I discovered on Ebay the remains of an 03 Honda ST1100 Police bike in
Oregon. I could see that engine was intact and that most of the electronics
were there. Unfortunately thay had cannibalized it before putting it up for
auction with no speedo and unknown mileage. I called them, they told me it
came from the city of Beaverton, Oregon. I figured a cop bike there would
not have been ridden 7/24 and called the PD and eventually got to talk to
the guy who actually services their bikes. The ST100 was made from 91 to 02,
the P model was made until 04, and this was delivered in late 04.
Turns out the bike had been laid down, busting some of the tupperware, and
the cops were afraid that the forks were bent and didnt want it fixed. He
checked the forks and determined that they were fine, but mined it for parts
for the fleet, and removed all the fun stuff like lights, siren, marked
panels, etc. I asked if he had records that would show the mileage on the
bike. He said hold on, and told me that the speedo he was looking at
said,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 12,380 miles. I bid on the bike and won it cheap.
I went and got it, the auction warehouse had put it outside in the rain for
two weeks, the carbs and crankcase had un-mixed water in them. I got her
home, cleaned it up and flushed it all out, got it running. The forks and
frame check out to be perfect. A few weeks go by and i finally got enough
mechanicals to ride it two days ago. Good thing I registered and insured it,
the CHP thought it was interesting, but nothing ticketable. f.cker is way
too fast, 120 with no fairing on a one mile straightaway. 80 feels like 40
on the wing.
I have a bit of bodywork to make, it looks like it's from "Road Warrior" now
but is ready for night use when my real headlights arrive. So far, i have
about $1200 into it.

as bought,

hit next a few times to show current state.

The Wing is going to be permanently attached to it's sidecar. The kid and
dogs will love it.

Whoops, didnt see that there is no "next" for some.
Bike has lots of goodies on it, like Heli-bars, footpeg lowerers,
aftermarket shock and progressive springs, etc. Too fun.

Congratulations, you got a good bike for not too much money.
Considering your bodging skills I expect something good.

What's this?

Dunno what you call it but it's for shaping (curving) sheet metal into
fenders, etc.

BTW - nice bike.

That would appear to be an English Wheel (I think that's what it's
called, anyway) used for shaping metal.

That is a 1922 hand-held English Wheel, designed for fender repair on the
car. I sent the parts in with my last batch of plating, looks a lot better
than rust. I will probably be using it in forming an aluminum fairing.

That one is a 1925 Studebaker-Flexible school bus we recently pulled out of
a barn. The farmers had removed the main portion of the body to use it as a
flatbed truck, but kept the body section in a barn. It was a nice find, the
new owner has quite a project on his hands.

Oh be lazy FSVOL pick up a Hayabusa fairing and fit that... That'll
mess with the kiddies heads.

Have fun and be careful please. The best I can do around here is a
salvage yard full of Hodaka and CanAm parts...all shaged rotten.

"Shaged rotten" ... must be a UKism? I have enough trouble trying to
read the "English" in uk.r.m.

Amazing a backwoods bumpkin like me, from the panhandle of Oklahoma
understood what was meant by the phrase the first time I heard it and
you don't get it? That is just surreal, totally surreal.
