BOB NIXON UPDATE 6/27

Got a surprise call this evening...

Bob has been awake for the last 8.5 hours, and alert, but he is unable to
verbalize or hum.  Having his jaw wired shut probably contributes as well.
He can respond with yes and no by shaking his head.  He is disoriented,
doesn't understand why he's in the hospital and is generally irritated as
hell.  They have to keep him restrained or else he tries to get up!

They have taken 1 pacemaker out.  The infection has improved.  He is strong
enough for them to schedule a surgery this Thursday to close up his left
arm & repair his left heel.

Another CT scan shows nothing.

His sisters and the docs are describing Bob as "ornery" - all good signs.

I'll wait two days for news like this!

A sure sign that things are slowly returning to normal. I'm not one for
praying, but my thoughts have frequently been on Bob, his family and
friends, and his recovery a lot these past couple of weeks. I'd like nothing
better than to see him back here, pissed off and snarly, someday soon.

I think they are going for a banjo to see if they can
get him to vocalize and humm first...

That's excellent Steve! I'm sure he'll become more coherent as time
marches on and his memory will clear up. Then it'll be "f.cking deer."

It sounds like he's getting stronger, too. Fight on Bob!

That's good news indeed. I only know Bob from his movie clips and postings
and he would not know me at all, but I would really like to see him get
well.

Outstanding news. I have trouble believing Bob would be ornery
though.:-)  When do they plan on fixing his feet? Tell Bob when he is
not so ornery that Buell Mike is praying for him.

Regards
Mike

I imagine pretty soon he will have them flipping through the pages
of the latest bike comparisons while trying to decide on his next
bike....
