This is mainly for Saddlebags...

"As the new century began, an epidemic of terrorism spread panic around the
globe. In world capitals, leaders fortified their security and curtailed
public appearances. Ordinary citizens felt unsafe walking the streets of
major cities, while terrorist themselves were like phantoms-everywhere and
nowhere at the same time, seemingly able to strike at will. Terrorism became
the preoccupation of police and politicians, bankers and business leader.
Headlines screamed out news of the latest outrage: WASHINGTON STUNNED BY
TRAGEDY IN, in one paper, IN GREAT PERIL, in another. One horrific September
terrorist attack, in the United States, sent the stock market reeling and
sparked anti-immigrant sentiment. Another attack, in Madrid, plunged Spanish
politics into turmoil over issues of war and peace. Politicians in the U.S.
took to describing the war on terror as a struggle of good versus evil,
while some religious leaders, quoting scripture, proclaimed that the end of
the world was at hand. THE YEAR WAS 1901"  by Walter Laqueur

As long as they don't carry the war across their borders and engage the rest
of the world they can have a internal fight for power... but going for their
arms will not win any votes at the ballot box... people are growing weary of
fighting...

Yeah X, but like all the Generals told Bush and the Armed Services Committee,
this religious infighting will go on indefinitely. If Bush leaves he will be
ridiculed for not getting all the terrorists. We are in a multi year war that
will probably add another trillion to our debt before it's anywhere near over.
I hope the children enjoy paying 50% income tax just to service the interest on
it.

Yup, and they're still wandering about the mountains of Afganistan making
regular video cameos.

Such is the cost of living in a free and open society. Me, I'll gladly accept
the risk. BTW X, motorsickles have been shown to cause irrepairable harm to
their owners too. Better get rid of that bike before you go getting yourself
hurt.

Well considering it was quite well known prior to the invasion of Iraq that:
a. The evidence Iraq had such weapons was WEAK WEAK WEAK. I pointed this out in
this very NG over and over and over.
b. Saddam was allowing our inspectors full access to anything they wanted to
see. The inspectors were finding nothing. I pointed this out in this very NG
over and over and over.
c. The evidence that Iran was in the process of making nuclear gun powder was
great.
d. The evidence that North Korea had and would threaten us and her neighbor was
indisputable.
e. The evidence that China, Pakistan, India all have nuclear capablility
unquestionable.
f. The evidence the former destitute members of the former Soviet Union have
enough nuclear material rotting away to the core of the earth to make us all
glow green for the right payola is undeniable.

The way this president has used our money and our military on the Iraq aspect
of the "war of terror" is dumb dumb dumb. And the way he continues to sh.t on
our Constitution is reprehensible.
Aside from that, I'm sure he'd be fun to chop logs with. I like to watch him
make those little goofy smirks, like a baby that just sh.t himself.

you are dealing with nukes...

As Commander in Chief can you risk even the hint of a nuclear explosion with

The US has already lost the war in Iraq, 100,000 times
over...with each innocent Iraqi life we took, and with every
broom handle shoved up someones a.s at Abu Ghraib we lost
more..and we lost our own souls doing it in many many cases.

And now we have lost 1100 of our boys and 10,000 are left
maimed...and we ill loose a trillion dollars before this is
over...and it will end as it did in Vietnam.  We could have
prevailed if we had begun on the high ground and then stayed
on the high ground.  Thats how we won every other war in US
history except for Vietnam.

We began there on low ground, and then went corrupt... we
lost.

We began in Iraq with corrupt motives, then went further south
since... there is not a snowballs chance in hell that we will
walk from Iraq in other than utter, complete and total
defeat..

Corruption ruins it host, and it ruins its host utterly,
and it ruins its host quickly....every single time in history
that is the case,,

The chief characteristic of the corrupt is that they
justify thier crimes.  That blinds them to actuality.  The
blind don't get far in a battle....before they go down they
cut up thier associates as well.  they swing blind, like
idiots.

  Impressive.

Reality is the issue... and that is that the risk is not
avoidable... attacking Iraq indiscriminantly only enrages more
against us.

The GWB doctrine of pre-emptive strikes pure insanity.. our
vulnerabity is less from nuclear attack than it is from our
own arrogance and abuse of our own citizenry and from
engraging those who would otherwise leave us alone to use
biologicals.

What GWB and the rest of these imbeciles dont notice is
that once your enemy has nothing left to loose, he becomes 100
times more deadly against you.   the US creates those types
every day.

 Impressive.

These who wish to get even with our US CIA for hosing
them lo these many decades have vastly more armaments than
would be required do shut down every major american city in a
day..  That would take very little force.  Just strategic
insight.  Our govt knows full well what it would take.

  We are *absolute sitting ducks.

The russians had been selling nuclear weapons and
suitcase nuc devices to these people all though the early 90's
as the russian people were starving and their soldiers went
unpaid.  It was no secret.

We ourselves, the good old USA put tens of thousands of
stinger missiles into the hands of those we now call
terrorists.   Not many of those have been recovered.

Just ten of those used one a month in the US on any flight
path over any city, and just over tens of thousands of
unguardable buildings and structures could serve as a launch
site for a stinger missile into the belly of a passenger jet,
sending it into a city population.

These 'terrorists' are pulling thier punches for various
reasons... possibly until we commit enough felonies against
mankind, such as at Abu Ghraib and at Camp X ray..etc to ruin
ourselves utterly... a nation does not commit such crimes and
not decimate its own heart.

Getting those weapons into the US is almost a non issue..We
inspect only 5% of the shipping containers so far...if we
inspected them all there are many other ways to get contraband
into the US...is been done for years with drugs.

Biologicals of all types are easily available on the
legitimate lab supplies market world wide.. it doesnt take
much for an experienced biologist to morph those into an
antibiotic resistant plague...then create a massive batch in
his bathtub.... and that can be sprayed on a walk though an
international airport spreading disease far and wide.  Or in a
US subway.

none of that potential is a secret... yet we goad on and on.
911 didnt happen in a vacuum.  The arabs were threatening to
sell oil only in Euro's...we took covert counter measures to
force them to keep using the dollar...    they put that shot
across our bow.

What the utterly corrupt morons that run our country have
yet to realize is that guerilla's always win in the end..
because guerilla's cannot be targeted efffectively.  They
cannot be even identified... these can infiltrate at all
levels of business and established government... If an
established power begins abusing those that are in the
open....  the ones that are not in the open, but integrated in
your culture,  turn against you in 100,000 ways .... some you
will never even detect...but the damage will be done.   For
instance now in india the founding of the Gold Rupie.

Our stunningly courrpt US military intelligence community has
been screwing the world now for 50 years...

.....  the chickens are now coming home to roost.

That was the message of President, and General Dwight D
Eisenhower in his final speech to the nation in 1962.    It
was too late even then to do anything about that deadly trend
to corruption it seems, that was Ikes guess as well.   He was
a sad man that day.   JFK was even sadder when those shots
exploded his skull.   The previous day he said he was going to
announce disturbing news.

Now the corruption has rotted the nations core...and left
its created enemies in a *rage. .. enemies that are pervasive
in the world, stateless, undetectable, with allies behind many
doors....a huge percentage of our own citizens are in rage...

the combination will reek havoc broadly in the US culture..
economically, militarily, socially and politically.

Corruption destroys its host...every time..  without fail in
world history.

...  .and quickly too.

The US will not be taken down by external attack however.

We are taking ourselves down with utterly ruthless internal
corruption, the decimation of our own citizens.. ..with
economic, political and other abuses...and then exporting that
ruin to others at the point of guns... and via the bomb bay
doors of our aircraft.

We have used the best mankind had to offer, to destructive
ends...then lied to support our excuses...it is that lying to
oneself and the  nation that ruins its intellectual
infrastructure... the actual dendron arm linkages in the
brains of its citizens are corrupted

From that nature has provided relief.
Such cultures are allowed to mercifully kill themselves off.

Not such a bad arrangement.

Our CIA and US intelligence community has been proven to
be utterly corrupt before congress on many occasions... and
running hundreds if no thousands of tons into the USA for sale
to our US school kiddies... admitted before congress and
reported also on 60 minutes and headlines across the nation in
the late 90's.

  thats depraved.

Osama Bin Ladin was wrong about the 'american people' being
depraved..thats too much of a generality... but our govt
proves its depravity on a daily basis as it *decimates our
economy, and our people and our industry and anyone it decides
to internationally.... by one depraved and corrupt move after
the other.  We just had a world class demonstration of that in
Iraq... especially the prisons and use of cluster bombs in
residential areas.

I suggest Larry that you read my posts that attach what
President Eisenhower had to say...its relevant.  And it
addresses the same issues that our enemy Osama Bin Ladin is
addressing..

The US after half a century of glory and decency has
changed...  its not good Larry.   You should look into the
details.
