Wasn't there a difference in the farings/graphics too? Also didn't the FZR
stay with the sharper smaller dual headlights and the YZF the larger bowed
duals? It's been a while since I rode them :)

No graphics on the bike in question, the farings and any graphics had
been painted over, and no markings otherwise. I was only working from
images from sites like bikepics.com, and the more photos of '95 FZR's
and YZF's I looked at the more the same they looked. I was thinking of
any glaring differences, like if the FZR was air cooled or not (as the
YZF I think is liquid). I'll take a closer look at the headlights.
Speaking of headlights, is there any way to retrofit a bike this old
with a Xenon headlamp type setup?
What I ended up doing was getting the VIN from the seller and entering
it into progressive.com, which in the course of generating an insurance
quote identified the bike as a YZF.
Thanks, TB
