Hotbodies bodywork sucks. So brittle, it will crack in your hands while
trying to prep all the thousands of pinholes out of it. Worst fit and
finish. Hecho en Mexico. Too bad, as they pay contingency.
GP is good stuff. Pricey and sometimes hard to get. (Like Airtech) Great
fit.
Sharkskinz is sort of the De Facto bodywork out here. Also pay
contingency. Pretty flexible and decent quality. Pricey. Good fit and
finish. Can take a week or more to get.
Cheetah is the new favorite in the group I race with. Nothing we've
found is more flexible. Great fit. Requires very little prepaint prep.
Last few sets were just scuff and shoot. No contingency in CCS SW.
Shop around, prices vary. Common bikes ship instantly.

Luckily; this was lowest on my preference list.

There's a shop in Florida that has a set and can get it to me late next week.

Thanks; I'm leaning towards the GP

I'll take a quick look.

I'll pipe up with Greg. I'm not in the same group, but I dance around at
the periphery of the same group as I don't race. I just live vicariously
through them on their website.
I can attest to the quality of the Cheetah bodywork. Very durable, light
and flexible. The ONLY complaint I have is that the primer is displaying
VERY minor cracks. I personally don't care, and I also expect that if I
had painted them instead of embracing the primer gray, it probably
wouldn't happen.

I'll keep thinking about cheetah -- the fastest I found was over 4 weeks out --
I went with GP which will be here by the weeks end.

Well; I got word that the GP is now 2 weeks out... (instead of being delivered
this week)
and the cheetah is about the same $ and is also 2 weeks out.
so I'll probably cancel the gp & go with the cheetah -- I keep getting positive
things about it; and nothing negative.

Well; I was in a hurry -- but that's been dashed. I was looking at sets I could
get in 2 weeks or so.
I just checked -- over a month to get armour bodies.
i'm going with GP or cheetah.

It works great if you coat it with Herculiner.
When crashed/sanded down the next time, slather more over the cracks
and abrasions. Better than bondo.
The pebbly finish drives chicks wild, too (ribbed for her pleasure).
No worries about little pinholes or surface imperfections, either.
Hope that helps.

OK --
Cheetah is happening.
The one I bought has the closed tail section (vs open for stock seat).
How stable are these? when bolted to the frame -- are they as solid as the
stock/bolted to the frame seat?
I've never had this kind becuase I didn't want to make a seat.... but I guess I
will now.

There is a fg or plastic bucket you attach to the subframe under the
superbike tail that is the support. (Every mfg except Airtech, they
don't offer it for most kits) With this, they are very stable, with out,
you will break the bodywork. As far as the seat goes, I use a piece of
wet suit material, cut to shape. Bevel the edge with my belt sander and
glue down with 3M '77'. Works good for me. I've made the support out of
16ga and 1/8 strap when the bodywork wasn't available with one. Works
fine, just heavier.

Where do you get that material?

Thanks for the input.
When talking to them, I heard "no brackets" -- and I assumed that was the
fairing bracket -- but now I wonder if they meant for the seat as well.
I'm getting tapp'd out on cash -- so maybe I should just order the open tail and
use the stock seat to avoid YAP (yet another purchase).
*OR* do you know if hte cheetah *does* come with this sub-frame for the seat?
Thanks

Hotbodies comes with it. My Cheetah set was ordered with the superstock
tail so I could use the factory seat on this set. It's just a simple
square tub with a flange to rest on the subframe. A block of Balsa would
work or Pine (it weighs more) The brace isn't rocket science as you will
see when you get your bodywork. Hell, on Airtech, I've just layered in
two more plys of E-glass and resin to make up for no brace. If you want,
I'll shoot some pics this weekend of the various shite I've used for
this purpose.
(If you spend more than $5 making one, shame on you!)
