No sh.t!

I wish I had cable - this looks like it is turning out to be a very
interesting season.  There is a lot of fast new blood.  It would be
cool to see Hayden take the win, although I still have to believe
Rossi could easily pull it off since no one is dominant right now.
A few 1st place finishes and he would be back on top.

RRW had an article saying how the 800 cc engines of next year will not
necessarily be less powerful, just higher rev'ing and a lot more
expensive.  I imagine this would give them a smaller power band
making them a bit less ridable.

Depends how Hayden et al keep finishing. If they are consistently on
the box maybe not. I remember one year Ben Bostrom won the AMA
championship and never one a single race.

Oh but they will be less powerful. Power is the area under the hp
curve, not just it's peak value.

That is the path Hayden is on right now.

Peak power is in HP - I think it would equate to top speed - which is what
FIM is trying to limit (probably in the wrong way).  The area under the
hp curve doesn't have the units of power, but I understand what it is you
are saying.
