Lunch & Ride Plans - 6/10/06

This "invite" is a little different than most of our "Enjoy Life" ride
invites...  Most of what we do starts somewhere in Northern, NJ.  This one
starts a few hours North of the NJ/NY border in Speculator, NY.  I'm hoping
some of you won't wind making a small trip to join us.

The departure location is Swifty's Downtown Grill in Speculator, NY.  It is
located at the corner of Routes 8 and 30 in Speculator.  Many of us will be
up there for Americade anyhow, so why not meet and eat and ride?

Speculator is 50 miles North West of Lake George Village right in the middle
of some of the best roads in the area.  A mile out of town, you see moose
crossing signs.  It's remote.  It's not crowded.  It's just about perfect!

DIRECTIONS:  From Americade - Take Route 9 through Warrensburg to Route 28
to Route 8 to Speculator, Swifty's is on the left in the center of town.
Easy, huh?

If it matters, anyone that has a map can't miss it.  There is only one way
to get there from anywhere.  30 and 8 go right through town.  Swifty's is
right there. If you are not coming from Americade, use www.mapquest.com.
Use a friend's map.  Just meet us there on time.

I'd love to have some RSVP's if possible so we don't overwhelm the place.
If you aren't sure and want to show up, that's fine too, I just hate riding
on an empty stomach when the places we go to run out of food...  And those
of you who know me know how I like to eat...

after Thursday and leave a message if I don't answer - I might be riding!
I'll probably return the call after 9:00 PM as I hope to be on the road
quite a bit - plus then the minutes are free.  <grin>

The official plan is very simple.  We meet at Swifty's at 11:30 AM.  We eat.
When all are done eating, we ride.  I'd guess that will happen around 12:30
to 1:00 PM or so.  Some folks will peel off at our "end point" and continue
on to parts unknown for sure.  Some will split off somewhere along the
way...  Some may just join us for lunch during their planned rides and then
continue to their own destinations.  It's a loosely organized group ride
open to all makes and models.  The only thing we ask is that you ride safe
for yourself and the others in the group.
