I have an 83 YZ 250 I am selling.  The guy I am selling it to  lives a
few states away.  I was wondering if my local Yamahaha shop would
crate the bike for me while I send over a truck to pick it up. The guy
I am selling the bike to made it sound like this is a common practice
amongst certain dealerships.  My guess is they could just use a crate
that brought in a new bike. Sounds like an easy $50.00 for the dealer
to me.

When I sold my Nighthawk 750 the buyer arranged for a truck (regular moving
company Like Allied) to pick it up.  They had a pallet, straps and cover.

We just rolled the bike onto a hydralic lift on the back of the trailer,
rolled it onto the pallet and the driver strapped the bike down and put a
cover on it.

Easy.

I think Allied does this also.

Just be prepared for a hefty shipping bill.  I think, back in 2002, I was
looking at $600 to ship a bike from DC to Denver.

I'd go to the shop you do the most business at.  Forget the Yamaha shop
Mike.  Go to your HD dealer that you have a good relationship with.
I'd almost guarantee they'll help you out.

Hey you, not to change the subject or anything, but trying to slip this
in under the radar. Did you meet/exceed what you were aiming for the
charity?

I'm on the Dayglo Orange bike.

I teamed up with a pal from MS so everyone's contributions were matched
by the software factory.  Our team raised $2,700.00 with the matching
funds.  One team exceeded $10,000.

I'm going to send a video to Bob to post, with some comments from Jake
Holden, and Josh Hayes, I did a couple of impromptu interviews.  Give me
a couple days to get them off the camera.

I hung out more with David Alan Grier this year, he is a funny funny
man.  I even got him to wish my wife a happy birthday on video.

If you want to read Daniel's comments about the pics above, check out
the thread with the subject of "Seattle 100 hits its' goal."
