Well, it all depends.  Do you always stop with caps key on?

And here is a perfect example of the "Pot calling the Kettle Black".

Do any riding lately, Joey?

Depends on your reaction time, awareness and the bike + tires and
traction conditions. Playing it safe in good weather, say 150 feet or
"about" 2 seconds or ~9 car lengths on the freeway at 60MPH. Since
most freeway traffic is > than 60 these days or at least around here
(PHX), so push those number out to say 175 feet and 2.5 seconds which
is still really pushing it but nothing happens instantaneously. IOW,
an accident in front of you happens fast but not instantly.

Now!!! Nobody seems to follow these guideless else there would be no
accidents. Two car lengths and I start pumping my brakes light for the
guy behind to back up to say 4-5 car lengths which still is too close.
Cage designers have given their buyers the impression that they are
invincible behind the wheels or their multi air bag rolling land
barges.

BTW, the only thing that stops faster than a "well ridden" modern
sport bike is a modern sports car with VERY expensive tires. But again
all cars now have ABS, which only adds to that feeling or
invincibility. ABS helps stopping distances for soccer moms but it's
no panacea

ABS increases stopping distance

That depends on the driver and the road surface.

I just did 1660 miles last week and did a few panic stops-wow, my
Triumph Speedmaster will just about throw me over the handlebars- yes
they stop fast and you need to practice a couple times a week.

Have a look at www.helperformance.uk for a very good explanation of stopping
times/distances from various speeds. Also has a nice little tester of your
potential reaction times....although no one can be really stupid enough to
correlate mouse-click speeds with starting the braking process...but still
an interesting indicator of just how far you can travel before even starting
to apply the anchors.

Are you serious? You are actually afraid of being "thrown over the
handlebars"?

If you aim for a bridge abutment, I'd say about .01 feet.

I tried it out and it was .001 feet.

a full 1G stop from 60MPH will take 120 feet.  Plus reaction time

Few bikes can pull 1G stopping - longer sport tourers and cruisers have
it easier - they are less prone to stand on their front wheel.

Also, what kind of tires?  The stickier the better.

I assume you'll be wearing full gear when you do this...
