Cost as much as that Korean 650 I saw in Cycle world. Maybe a little more. The Ohlins shock is a nice touch though.

HP figures vary, but stock they put out mid to high 60s, I believe, and you can tune them to around mid 70s. At least that's what I've been told by some reliable SV tuner type people.

The new FI'd SV's are running about 73 RWHP Jamin. They may have hopped this one up a bit for the press release. I like it, personally.

On a related note, we just installed her Woodcraft rearsets today, replacing the somewhat bent OEM units. Well, I installed them as she kept me company and handed me tools from the workbench, and brought cold beer into the garage. How romantic, eh? :)

Sheeesh, Tim now I really want to buy that Duc (inspite of the fact the marketing dweebs call it "entry level", morons).
Don't get me wrong, I LIKE the idea of an American Sport Bike. But this ain't no American bike. Hell, people pay a premium for H-D. I'd like to see an American sourced engine and frame. I will accept out sourced brakes, shocks, forks.
I can dream.

Mike, when someone comes out with a complete bike, with every significant component designed ***AND PRODUCED*** in the US, I will be willing to call it an American Bike...
Until then...it isn't an american bike.
So they put together a frame, big friggin deal.
Give me drawings of an engine with all the necessary and I can put a frame around it in an afternoon. It isn't all that terribly difficult...especially when there are plenty of existing bikes to look at for inspiration...

Well, if it's made with imported steel, imported engine and transmission subassemblies, imported electrical parts, imported brake and suspension parts, in a production line made up of imported tooling, by a company that is foreign owned, for which the majority of the profits go to foreign investors, I would call it a foreign motorcycle.
I bought a BMW car that was assembled in South Carolina. It was a German car. I currently own a Chevy truck that was assembled in Mexico. It's an American truck.
The bike in question in this thread strikes me as a Chinese motorcycle.

All Buells from 2002 on down had frames made in America. It was when the Firebolt arrived when Verlicchi was building frames for Buell in Italy. The nice trellis chrome moly Buell frame was made here and if it were up to me they would still be building a tube framed model.
