As far as I can tell, no strings attached. Just fill out some shipping info,
answer a brief questionnaire, and like magic you'll get a box full of
hearing protection goodies soon afterward. I just got mine in the mail
today, and was mightily impressed with how much stuff they sent. Probably 60
pairs of earplugs, some disposable, some reusable, of various NRR ratings
and styles. Also a pair of 26 NRR earmuffs.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the pointer. I just filled out the form.
Of course, I selected "other" instead of "software development."
:-)
Oh well. It's not like I didn't buy a case of
disposables from them previously....

Working in a rather loud mfg facility I'm privvy to all the ear plugs
I want. Problem is, I hardly ever think to put them in. We get
tested once a year and my hearing has always been normal, even with
all the rock concerts, bar hopping, and 3 decades of riding
motorcycles. I do try and remember them if I'm going to be riding for
several hours on a given day. As much to prevent fatigue as anything.
I always wear them shooting too. That sh.t will cause ya to go deaf.

Fortunately, liberal types are blessed with 8 times that of
conservatives. So even with half gone I can still bitchslap you in a
battle of wits while asleep.

I'm not a "conservative", I'm an independant, which means me and my ilk have
it all over the "free dope and blame Americans!" crowd or the "praise Jesus
and kill abortionists!" types.

I wear ear plugs almost every time I ride. I have to say almost because
there have been occasions, rare occasions, where I've puttered around
without them. If I expect to ride more than 30 mph, I wear plugs.
Usually with shooting I wear double protection: plugs + earmuffs. In fact I
just got a fancy pair of electronic earmuffs that amplify ambient noise but
attenuate or clip high amplitude sounds (like gunshots). So I can hear
people talk on the range, but the shots are extra muffled.
Outdoors it's not so bad on the ears, shooting I mean. It's when you're at
an indoor range that you can really do some damage with prolonged exposure.

You could always just use a suppressor instead. That's hearing protection
too, you know. Plus it's more fun. :)

A friend used to make those out of shampoo bottles.

I've used some, but they were purpose built of metal.

Thanks! I just sent off for my kit. I find earplugs to be essential on
long rides. I should probably wear them on ALL rides.

Given the choice and all the jalopies spewing smoke everywhere, I
think I'd be more apt to wear a respirator. My ears won't do me much
good if I can't breath.

There's so much stuff in there, I can't believe it.
The earmuffs will come in handy at the gun range!

You're all welcome. I was mightily impressed with the quality of the stuff
they give away in that kit. It's the best freebie I've found in a long, long
time.
And I think the kit did it's job, at least for me. I'll seek out their
products in the future, the next time I'm looking to purchase.
