Anyone know what type of store carries little plastic bolts and
nuts?  Something that would fit in a 1/8" hole or so, to hold a
windscreen onto an upper cowling?  I lost a few in the last crash
and don't want to use metal ones.  I couldn't find anything at the
hardware stores (from Ace to Home Depot).

I usually find useful fasteners at Lowes although I did find a nice
brake bolt at Ace once.  But the Lowes near me has drawers full of the
plastic types.

Hmm, I'll give them a try.  With plumbing stuff, I found they had a good
selection of many of the little oddities you don't find in other places.
HomeDepot was useless.  Ace had tons of stuff, including some large
nylon bolts - I was surprised they didn't have plastic ones.

I get the best selection at two local hardware stores that are small, not
the huge Lowe's or Home Depot stores. Find a small store nearby that has a
good selection of fasteners, and you'll probably find what you need.

I switched to stainless screws and washers the last time I replaced a
windshield.

That is what I like about Ace Hardware - it is just a name on a local mom
and pop business.

I like how the nylon ones break instead of the bodywork in a crash.

The local Lowe's did the trick this time - they had drawers filled with
nylon bolts.  Damn, I'm cutting it close as usual for the track.

I was cleaning off the 'ol workbench last night when I noticed an engine
part was left over - ooops.  it was just a dowel pin used for the
connection between the cylinder and the engine.  So, I had to take the
damn thing apart and put that on.  Luckly the RS-125 is a snap to work
on, but I would have rather spent that time doing other things....

Why, yes, there is an unusual kind of store that specializes in such things.
It's called---get this---
a "hardware store". Imagine that.

"Hardware", as opposed to "software". What will they think of next?

If you don't see nylon and plastic screws in bags on the racks, look in the
drawers.
