Don't tempt me. I had to take the F4i to shop today. The 4k rpm problems
had become unbearable.
So here it is a long weekend, perfect weather and some of the best canyons
have been opened for the season and I have no bike.
I am this close (hold forefinger and thumb real close together) to getting
on craigslist and buying a Ninja 250:

This is a good deal, if it's real...

Doooh! Didn't notice the year. Either the guy f.cked up, and put 2001,
or it's a scam. Because that's most likely a 2003(Since they never made
a firebolt for 2001 model year).

My wife had one for a couple of years, and never rode it.
So to keep the battery charged (ahem) I would occasionally take it out to
the hills instead of riding my VFR800.
Having to stir that gearbox around to remain in the heart of the power-band,
and learning how to enter corners at absolute top speed and on the perfect
line -because there's simply no power with which to paint over your
mistakes- is *wonderful* training for bigger bikes.
More fun than a basketful of kittens.

Funny, I have been sniffing around for something different, and in fact an
RC51 is/was high on my list of possibilities, then I was up at Sear's Point
last weekend....
and as I wandered in to the Ducati tent, I was compelled to get as close as
I could to one of these:

Odd, considering I haven't really fancied those Monsters too much, but this
one was whispering to me. "Jim, you need me, don't you? Aren't I what you
have been looking for ever since your beloved VTR was folded in half?"
Then when I got home, I spent an hour or so researching the current maket
value of a 2003 R1. Not that I don't like the R1, but to be honest, I am
just not an inline engine kind of rider. And that :

Maybe you can make a deal with Tim. He's taken a fancy to a 620
leaving that poor S4Rs to collect cobwebs.

Is that so? Is it pearl white, with a red stripe. I wouldn't have it any
other way.
