Buell has been promoting "Ride the Bike/Get the Bag" in many of the monthly
motorcycle magazines. This is a bullshit promo. I contacted two SE Wisconsin
dealers, via e-mail, about making arrangements to test ride a Ulysses--just
sold the Multstrada and thought it might be a good replacement. Not one of
the dealers even responded to my request. My son, living in the Charlotte,
NC area had the same luck in that area. Buell, save your money, your dealers
don't give a sh.t about selling your bikes.

I had a similar problem last year, went to a dealership or two, they knew
nothing about the program. Then Steve clued me in on exactly who was
allowing these rides, even got me a list of those dealers, local. I went to
one with no prior announcement, and got a nice ride on a Uly.
And I still use the bag they gave me to carry stuff to work every day of the
riding season.
You should contact Steve, he'll know who close to you might actually have
these rides, versus dealers which don't participate.
Understand, I am not endorsing Buell dealers in any way, or their bikes, but
like I said, I had a similar problem which Steve helped me solve.

Maybe you should tell him who Steve is and how to contact him?

I went to my local H-D dealer, took a demo ride on a Uly, and had to
remind the sales guy three times that I wasn't buying a bike that day,
but was there for the ride and the bag promo. I finally did get the
bag, but I'm sure he preferred that I just go away if I wasn't
interested in buying.

Call Hals HD/Buell in New Berlin and ask for Bud Curtis. He'll happily
allow a no-pressure test ride.
Their Phone # is 262-860-2060
I'd stay FAR FAR FAR away from Ukes.
Which dealers did you contact via email? Most, if not all the dealers in
the area have run out of the bags by now. Hals had the factory demo
fleet there about a month ago, and did over 150 test rides.

Saw the notice in a.m.s. Went to the Buell/Harley dealer in Tukwilla
the next day. They said "You here for the bag demo?" I said "Sure am!"
They said "Pick any Buell you want!" Got it out and the battery was
dead. They said "Pick any other Buell you want!"
I took that one out for a demo. Can't fathom why anyone would want
to ride a paint shaking machine (or most males anyway).
Won't be doing that again soon. Maybe next year.
When I got back they had the bag out and forked it over.
Nice bag actually. It's a genuine soft computer case. Been using it
for that ever since. Lots O' Pockets.

Definitely isn't so becoming on a sportbike, but in fairness you only
feel the shakes at stoplights.
