Finally fall is here for us...

Tampa at 2PM, EST

85 degrees F
UV Index:          6 High
Wind:         From NNE at 9 mph
Humidity:         34%
Pressure:         29.87 in.
Dew Point:     54°F
Visibility:         10.0 miles

Not a cloud in the sky and that is very very low humidity for us.

Beautiful riding weather!

Okey dokey. Boy we really suffer in the heat down here a lot but days
like this make it all worthwhile!

You can get more live web cam links from the link on that page. The ones
there are 4PM conditions.

PS: I dabble in html about once a year so don't expect a work of art
all you html critics :-)

Nice pictures.  I was, however, hoping to see the Yamaha with new
stalk style turn-a-ma-jigs installed.

Oh no. I'm not springing for that for that bike. It's great in town and
good on the highway up to about 75MPH, but as AFAIC that's the
realistically usable top speed for the bike although they say it will
do 100MPH.

Now I expect to be buying a Kaw 1998 ZX6R or equivalent (1998-2000) as
thats what the budget will allow. Of course that bike will have a much
bigger top end and more deserving of such "pampering".

BTW, I've been doing a lot of searching on model specs, prices and
performance. Turns out 98-2000 is a very good time period for price
verses performance. So I actually have several models targeted. So what
I get will depend on price ($3000 limit) and opportunity.

Anyway the performance of several of these bikes is not greatly different
from the 2007 models. Of course I'd rather have one with 000000 on the
odometer, but the $$$ thingy is a bit of a problem...

My 400 Seca is in darn good shape considering it's 24 years old. If I
replaced the pipes (chromed pipes has some rust) and got one piece of
snap on plastic (mine has a slight blemish) it would be darn close to
pristine condition. I picked it up for $700 and now I think I got a
damn good deal.

And for anyone with a 98 ZX6R or similar for sale in the
Tampa-St.Petersburg area I have a website and a page for what I'm looking
for (4 different models to give an idea) and the necessary contact
information. I'd also consider shipping something in but of course that
is a hassle working out all the details....

I had a friend with a 98 ZX6-R.
It was a fun bike to ride, and I remember riding the Cali Superbike School's
Y2K 6R's, great bikes.

There's an old thread on one of the boys binning his 98 ZX6R.

The old days....hmmm...I swear I haven't seen a wreck on the road in about 3
years.

Not really, it still would need some mountains.  A highway overpass
does not qualify ;)

Yawn.
No Hills there
No twisty roads
Good for the over 70 crowd on their 3 wheelers
