You aren't insignificant Brian, just your country. But you shouldn't feel
bad, the place looks absolutely beautiful.

Way to go. Beautiful. What happened to the chain?

It would be nice to blame something else, but the blame goes to me for
lack of maintenance/adjustment and too much abuse. I was about to pass a
Ducati under power when the gap closed, so I snapped the throttle
shut.....then the gap was there again, so I powered on and all I had was
rev's! The chain had broken and fired out the back narrowly missing the
bike that was up my arse trying to pass at the same time.
At the time all I could thing was something had gone wrong with the
gearbox, until a mate pulled up laughing and told me where my chain was.
Luckily I was only a couple of hundred metres ( a long way in 'all the
gear' on a hot afternoon.) from the top of a rise and it was downhill
all the way to a small town where I parked up and got a lift home on the
back of an ST Triumph......which was the most terrifying ride Iv'e been
on! The rider had dumped his missus off the back a few weeks earlier
while popping a wheelie passing a car. It got to the stage that I was
shutting my eyes before certain corners!(meeeeow) :)

Cool pictures, Troy. I pictured Brian as a smaller guy and I noticed
he has a lift on one shoe from that bad leg accident. I used to have
my boots set up that way (1" higher on the left side) before the deer
thing. Now with the prosthetic, ther're both the same (shorter)
lenght. BTW,NZ sure is purty:)

It's funny how you form mental pictures of the people you 'meet' on the
interweb....and they are never like what you see their picture. :)
I met a guy the other day who had one leg shortened to match his
buggered leg (head-on in the twisties)....keener than me! I'll stick
with the built up boot. It's OK on the KTM, but I have to wear bike
boots on the Aprilia as there is no extra room for that build-up.
