Hi,
Most of us have been there....on a ride and someone goes down. You see that cloud of dust or the rider is in front of you and you get that sinking, oh s....t feeling and hope it's not too bad.
But what if the injuries are bad? Are you prepared to assist? Will you do the right thing? It can mean the difference between life and death, minor or major injuries. There's an even more important procedure than tending to the fallen rider, what's that?
Learn what to do and not do when the unexpected happens. What's the very first thing you must do even before attending to the fallen rider. How do you handle road rash, fractures, and bleeding. When should you remove the helmet? What about spinal injuries, shock and much more.
This is a power packed workshop, hands on, First Aid and CPR class geared for you. So you can be ready for the worst, but of course hope for the best!
We'll even go over what you should have in your First Aid kits!
This 5 hour First Aid / CPR course which will help you in handling the most common First Aid / CPR situations that you encounter as a motorcyclist!
To top it off, you'll get a CPR certification (2 year, American Heart Assn.)!! Certification for First Aid is also available!
If you are an EMT, I need volunteer instructors to help out! The number of volunteers will determine the number of students I can have.
So e-mail me if you're an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician).
What: Doc Wong Certified First Aid/CPR for Motorcyclists! When: Saturday, October 4, 2008 Time: 9am to 3pm Where: Doc Wong's office at 1391 Woodside Road, Suite 200 Redwood City, CA 94028 Cost: $35 (add $10 if you want the First Aid Certification) How to sign up: e-mail docwong@aol.com
Proceeds to Sponsor Leatherneck Racing, i.e. Gary Jaehne's racing efforts! Go Gary!
We had this class last year which was unbelieveable! It was the BEST First Aid class I've ever been to.
They really geared the class for motorcyclists and motorcycling situations. It was so close to being a certified class that this year I just added another hour and you get the certification too!
Ride street, ride track, ride dirt, trials.....ride.....well!

Bob..
Joey Tribiani - 05 Sep 2008 03:07 GMT > What charter??? This one, unlike most his other SPAM is asking for > money to attend. come on bob, *every* usenet group every started was started by someone and you had to register a charter to keep the group current... they were all pretty generic and all of them contained guidelines that forbid "off topic" posts as well as spam.... not that the usenet police will get you for breaking them, but if you are gonna throw it out there, you should be abiding by it..

If there had been all negative votes I would shut up but this one of Doc's post is especially SPAM becasue he''s asking $35 a head to attend. That't internet news group advertising or SPAM, a definate voilation of the USENET rules.

Bob. .

My post was not whining, the whining was coming from you about the clinic being offered... don't like it, kill the posters address, or just shut up...
Bob Nixon - 05 Sep 2008 06:16 GMT > >> You forgot to say anything, Battleax but let's just assume it was > >> intended as your usual drivle:) [quoted text clipped - 8 lines] > you about the clinic being offered... don't like it, kill the posters > address, or just shut up... That's not all I post about, Joey. In fact, The Doc Wong bitches are a definate minority to my other post/contributions.
Bob.. BTW, why are you defending him so adimately. He''s a non responding SPAMER, nothing more, nothing less. The guys who post off topic including you are at least "involved" in AMS, not just one way proselytizing & pandering like Doc Wong does.

Bob Nixon.. "
I guess you really do feel you are above what you preach.... you don't like certain posters, kill file them... you are in no position to complain about posts that don't belong in this group when you constantly contribute to (and start) topics that "don't belong" in this group.... and that, sir, was my only point, but you took offense and resorted to insulting my post because you don't agree with it... that's a real class act, Bob...
Bob Nixon - 07 Sep 2008 06:18 GMT > >> so if we incessantly whine as you've been doing for the past couple > >> years, [quoted text clipped - 19 lines] > only point, but you took offense and resorted to insulting my post because > you don't agree with it... that's a real class act, Bob... Yes Joey, I guess I feel 8 years without any break in this NG entitles me to break the rules once in awhile (if for no other reason than to engender more activity) and I feel being crippled @ 63 years old by a deer and still riding in the top level (upper 25%). And dude, I've personally met & ridden with more people in this group than anyone else here, so yeah, I'm feel somewhat privileged as much as that may piss some of you tykes in AMS off. Did you catch my point there Joey & other distracters?
Bob Nixon..

(good luck on the > pissing me off, you ain't got it in ya) I wasn't trying to piss you off, Joey. You're one of the good new guys as far as I'm concerned but like most Americans you don't respect those who made your life easier and safeer (no more cold war/ Soviet Union to worry about). But My own PRIDE is my undoing and I'll be the 1st to admit it. Remember to respect your elders as they do in other countries. Age = wisdom. evven in an age where written text keeps the ball rolling at hyperspeed. I haven't forgot about technology and try to keep up with or ahead of the curve, inspite of my years and condition.

Bob wasn't ever spamming which is the only thing I care about. And the reular longtime contributors DO have more USENET street cred than spammers and weasels. It's informal but that is how it has been for at least the last 18 years.
Joey Tribiani - 07 Sep 2008 20:07 GMT > Bob wasn't ever spamming which is the only thing I care about. rules is rules, selective enforcement by net nannies is unacceptable.

i had to esplane to a client the other day... respect and award tenure or loose the brain trust.... you end up with wall to wall idiots that way.
collapse ensues.... same mistake btw made by the little snot who took over the criminal cult as phatso was dying.

You don't actually act this retarded when submitting a written bid do you? Or do clients not ask for those during the average outhouse wiring job nowadays?
Twibil - 04 Sep 2008 20:41 GMT > The vote was pretty equal as I recall. Oh, but we don't have to trust to your recall -and we shouldn't, because you're a pathological liar- we can just look at the actual results, which went like this:
1 (you) absolutely in favor of "getting rid" of doc's posts.
4 that were neutral or who felt there were points on both sides of the question.
8 that were in favor of you dropping your Doc Wong fixation and leaving him alone.
> If there had been all negative votes I would shut up... (snip) Ah. So once again you were lying outright when you said "vote yes or no and I'll shut up if you want to keep Doc's ads". Now you've decided that only a unanimous vote would have prevented you from doing what you intended to do all the time anyway. (And of course a unanimous vote was never possible in the first place because *you* would have always voted in favor of dumping Doc's spam, no matter what. This is what's know as "fixing" a vote after the fact.)
So your entire thread was not based on a *real* promise at all: it was based on a lie -*your* lie- and now that you've lost you're just going to pretend that you won, continue doing as you like, and hope that nobody calls you on your bullshit.
Wrong.

Robert Striemer - 05 Sep 2008 01:15 GMT I think Bob's criticism is valid.
Has Wong ever posted/shared stuff that wasn't self-serving; something that might serve the group as opposed to serving his bottom line?
Also, what is he a doctor of?

I think chiropractors were banned in Massachusetts until just a decade or two ago....to this day I still consider the practice only one step removed from a degree in snake oilery.
phil scott - 07 Sep 2008 21:38 GMT > I think Bob's criticism is valid. > [quoted text clipped - 47 lines] > > - Show quoted text - SELF SERVING? what? you are calling a scientologist SELF SERVING!
not.
how could that be.
Ed - 05 Sep 2008 02:58 GMT >> Wrong. > > Oh bite me you older than even me fart. IThe non money post I left > alone. Now go back under that rock Peter eater;) Somehow they didn't count my vote. I also vote yes to get rid of Doc's posts.

I was in an induced coma state for five weeks and for the next month I don't remember much. They held a Birthday party for me in the Hospital on August 2nd and when I look at the pictures I remember most of that event. I'm sorry if I offended you over this Doc Wong thing but I'm very adamant about him prolly. (See next paragraph))
Because he and AB, others weren’t even out of HS when I was riding those same peninsula hills. IOW, Doc is trying to cash in on all of us who've ridden those roads before he knew they even existed. "Alice’s has been around for many years before Doc and his crew or even myself rode up there. You or others may call it jealousy while to me I just feel a gross lack of respect with him milking a popular road for his business purposes. I'd estimate we used to see an accident at least every weekend we'd ride up there and I find it hard to believe Doc's efforts have changed those percentages at all. Fact is he's had many crashes on his own rides. How do I know this? I read BAMA Moto once in awhile.

PS. I was already in HS myself when we move from Omaha to Castro Valley in the SFBA I just turned 63 last month. BTW, You might think of the above as a Titanic survivor's attitude toward the current grave diggers of that sunken vessel.
Bob Nixon - 05 Sep 2008 06:03 GMT > >> Wrong. > [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > Somehow they didn't count my vote. I also vote yes to get rid of Doc's > posts. Ed, you never post here in AMS so your vote is null. Get it? But anyway, I've stopped bitching about his freebee stuff but not the REAL SPAM that cost you money or ($35) this time. That's USENET SPAM or advertising a big no-no.
Bob Nixon..
Ed - 07 Sep 2008 04:06 GMT >> >> Wrong. >> [quoted text clipped - 8 lines] > SPAM that cost you money or ($35) this time. That's USENET SPAM or > advertising a big no-no. Sorry Bob, but I do. I frequently change names for work reasons. Remember the post a few weeks back where I referenced seeing you in the hospital and I am from Utah? You may or may not remember me visiting you in the hospital but you seemed to remember when I posted a few weeks ago. Your sister I think was the one who remembers me (I drive the Warrior), from Utah and is blonde. Sorry about the confusion.

If the money (via the cults WISE membership) ends up funding scientology's hit men, thugs and whores operation...as all of the IAS membership money does, and the rest of the take....(over 100 million in 1997 according to a court case in that year for PI's and attorneys alone)...well then 'spam' would hardly begin to define the situation.
***
My guess given scns vast fall from grace in the last few years..... the ruthless management has found 'out policy'... violations of Hubbard policy 'that cause all bad things' ... and has leaned on doc for violating Hubbards precept...'free service equals free fall' and has forced him to charge for the schools.. (and donate at least 10% of or often all of it to scn management)....those still in scn are reporting absolutely ruthless attempts to coerce money out of the adherents...always involving such as getting inheritances early, cashing out insurance, selling homes, and applying for 20 credit cards all in one day so the card companies cant check...then maxing the cards out to pay scn.
if doc is still solidly on board he will be at the nasty end of the stick... money will an issue...if he like most others have backed off, still stayed in scientology so that they will not be disconnected from their families and business relationships... these simply dont answer the phone anymore without screening... and are 'very busy' and only have time to do a token course or buy books occasionally.
One thiing for sure, you dont see many of the sir names of existing members, children and relatives in scn rolls anymore...that used to be comon..... its become a one shot rip off apparently.
Desperation has set in big time, esp as the real estate bubble and the derivitives are over the edge into free fall in many aspects... it is accountability time in river city... scn has had a direct hand in many of the major bank failures, starting with BCCI in the early 90's, then via management of the CIA's carlyle group finances (22 billion in direct cash losses they have admitted to)...and the 4 banks conplict and charged by the SEC. 600 million in the Slatkin fraud... now its snow balling on them.
**
I hope Doc and others, Kieth Code etc. took my ongoing advice and disconnected from that crime wave.
