Wicked Uncle Nigel - 01 Aug 2007 21:57 GMT T plate 1100 Pan. 50th Anniversary Limited Edition, in a fetching shade of gold.
ABS and TCS (see below).
105,000 miles.
Baglux tank cover.
Honda colour matched top-box to go with the panniers.
Cosmetically challenged, and the ABS is currently faulting. Last time that happened cleaning the battery terminals cured it. I haven't tried that yet. Assume dodgy sensor (about £100 from David Silver).
1 year's MOT (mid August 2008) and taxed to end of November.
Currently sporting a towbar, but that'll probably be removed and flogged separately.
Basically scruffy but sound Pan.
What will I get for it?

I'd have thought maybe £1500-1600. Hard to tell without a pic to see how cosmetically challenged it is. Service history would help.

[1] Really, this car is amazing. It bowls along at 95mph, with cruise control on, with no rattles. It still appears to make most of its originally quoted 170bhp, most of the toys work (climare control, elecric mirrors, etc) [2], it steers and brakes reasonably well. If I wasn't such a snob I'd keep it.
[2] exceptions are rear left door doesn't unlock with central locking, and the electric sunroof opens, but doesn't close again, necessetating the use of the special emergency allen key hidden under the sunroof facia. And the aircon isn't as cold as it should be.

On the Pan (IIRC) that'll cause the ABS to fault anyway, because it only sees a signal from one wheel.

And the aircon isn't as cold as it should be. My old one was great. Like yours, it has a 'lazy' rear door on the central locking - only IIRC it was the rear right-hand one.
The best thing was the comfort - best seats and best ergonomics of any car I've driven. Fabulous build quality too.
Aircon stopped blowing cold shortly before I sold it - £95 and a Man in a Van sorted that out with a re-gas.

It was when my old Honda Accord Aerodeck failed with an ABS light fault (that wasn't the only fault it failed on mind - the root cause of the ABS light being on was that one of the rear brake lights had blown and that *always* caused the ABS light to come on with that model..)

I would have thought it would better breaking it at that price, even in big lumps. Seats, exhaust, swinging arms, ABS bits etc. seem to go for good prices. If you have the tools to do the job and space to store the bits, it takes just three weeks to dispose of every nut and bolt on Ebay.
Week One: all the stuff that's in the want. Bodywork, trim, instruments, crashable bits, etc etc. Tinware for SOBs. OE exhausts for SOBs...
Week Two: second division stuff. electrics, suspension, switches, brakes, whatever. Start it all at 99p and no reserve.
Week Three: whatever's left. Frequently a frame and a wheel or two, plus assorted crap. Start it at 99p and no reserve, buyer collects, and someone comes and takes it away.
Job done.

Mine's only done 35K so that day is still a long way away. That's ridiculous. The belt itself is about 50 quid. It can't be more than a couple of hours work. I'm going to be doing mine soon, I'll let you know.

Hmm.. a 3-spanner difficultly rating. Middle and top fairings off (budget new clips), cooling system drained (easier if the down-pipes are removed) radiator out (after 90K are we going to keep the old hoses? better budget for them), clutch-cover gasket, drain-plug washer, antifreeze and engine oil (better change the filter then?) spark plugs out (how new are they?). It all adds up. I seriously doubt if I could get the fairings and radiator out in a 'couple of hours' but then I am a ham-fisted, impatient git. Better GAMI.

The cam belt was done at 60,000. So it's "only" 45,000 old. About half-way to the next one.
