I'm looking for an in-car charger for my Dell Inspiron 1300.
I don't want to spend the kind of money that Dell want.
I've looked around a bit, but can't see anything compatible (the 1100
isn't, AFAIK).
Can anyone point me in the right direction, pleez?

Just get an inverter - far more useful.

Check out www.cpc.co.uk, they do a good range. Look on your mains PSU and
check the voltage and power usage (may be in amps or watts, watts is voltage
* amps FYI). The hard part is getting the correct connector.

£4.99/£6.99 for a 2 or 4-into-1 cigarette lighter from Maplin:
http://tinyurl.com/2tu9s4
http://tinyurl.com/36l8hf
and £15-£40 for a 150/300W inverter from the same place.
http://tinyurl.com/2rjn9m
Then you can keep your phone/SatNav/iPod etc going and plug your normal
mains charger into the inverter socket. If you get the 4 way adapter, be
careful to use the full current socket for the inverter. The others will
handle Satnavs/phones etc, but not an inverter.
