Hey all
Regular readers will know that I'm off to race on the Island on
Friday. I've got super-mechanic extraordinaire looking after my
bikes, so I'm sitting pretty.
However, my mate and nicest-bloke-in-the-world Keef is a bit
short-handed. By a stroke of luck he's got two bikes to ride (Junior
and Senior), and has *no*-one to help him in the paddock in practice
week (he's probably ok for race day crew in race week). The demands
of getting two bikes pushed through scrutineering, wheels changed if
the weather does, and a million other things, is not what you want to
be worrying about when you should focusing on riding.
So, if there's anyone who's coming over, or even half-thinking about
it, and wouldn't mind getting involved in the racing, then we could
definitely find them something useful to do. Even if you're not
confident weilding spanners, having someone who can carry the paddock
stand, push a bike, etc, would be wonderfully useful.
Probably best to contact me direct by email at neal at champ dot org
dot uk.
Practice starts Saturday, and, after a break on Sunday, runs every
evening of next week to Saturday 25th.

I'd really love to, but I just cannot afford to at the moment.
Have a good time yourself, and bring home a pot or two if you can.

Tell him he doesn't need to practice until the Friday and from then on
I'll help.
I really don't see why he needs to practice when he lives on the
island and his commute to work and back could be a lap a day if he
went over the mountain on his way there and did the rest of the course
on his way home.
