I need to send some important papers to a lawyer in Canada. I want them
tracked and signed for.  In the UK I would probably use RM Special Delivery.
Any suggestions for an international equivalent (or better) service?

Depends how important and valuable they are but it may be worth sending them
via UPS/DHL/Fedex or similar.

Fedex.
I used to send billing records for BT/AT&T all over da world using them.

http://www.fedex.com/gb/

They do a nice little document pack service.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I went with DHL in the end as they have pickup
points in most branches of Staples and I was due to go to a location near my
local Staples anyway.  Not cheap but a lot less than Datapost.  I wanted to
use Airsure which is now supposed to be available for Canada (since July
23rd) but the Post Office outlets haven't updated their computers yet.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember deadmail@burnt.org.uk saying
something like:

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the
river cleaned out in a day.
