Wii. PS3 has got nothing a half-decent PC can't offer, UK model is
overpriced, and underspecced compared to what the rest of the world gets.
Wii is genuinely different, fantastic with a few mates, and half the price.

Xbox 360 & PS3 are just cheap home PCs.

Wii is a games console.

I've got a 360, btw, and it rocks.

I have had 2 360's & they both broke very quickly. Call Of Duty was
f.cking awesome though.

No they aren't.
That could be said about the original X-Box , but the 360 is technically
very different , PS3 more so , and while there is some overlap in terms of
games they offer a very different experience to a PC.

As are the other two

I think the Wii is damn good fun.
It could do with a few more top notch titles coming out but that's not too
far away now and there's plenty to keep you busy until then.

The horrible reliability issues on the 360 would put me off , and the PS3
has an even more limited choice of games out.
I'd buy a Wii now and a PS3 in a years time

Yup. even I have one..

Mind you the dog gets very confused when I'm playing a game and goes
behind the TV to look for what she thinks I've just thrown..

And the NFL games I got needs a degree to remember all the various
moves.

I used to like games, but they're now either so realistic there's no
fun (latest tom clancy game - warfighter? - you have to control a
platoon - sod that I just want to shoot people) or they're not
realistic enough to provide entertainment (driving games are all crap
now I've played live for speed).

The Wii didn't look mega realistic, but the games were *fun*. I was
looking forward to the PS3, but I won't be getting one. It might be
faster/bigger/etc but who cares - my auntie had a go on a Wii last
night and she enjoyed it. I don't know of any other console that's
engaged just about every age range.

<thread hijack>
I recall an episode of 'Tomorrow's World' from years back, when (IIRC)
Michael Rodd demonstrated a flight simulator game, in which you _sat_
inside the game and it could turn 360° in all directions.  Side-on, it
looked like a frisbee on its edge.  Anyone remember that, and are toys like
that still available?

Anyone who fears Clique reprisals, can respond via e-mail.
