Most i have ever done on a bike & the zed has been stunning, utterly
stunning.
Cant wait for the bar risers though, can just be a bit low on the
hands. The full set of Givi luggage is brilliant to use too.
It really is f.cking funny to see the sports bike riders as you f.cking
fly by, i don't care what anyone says, there aint much faster in a
straight line, even today. It doesn't do too bad at corners if you have
the balls. In fact it is more capable at corners than i thought.
Might have to think about a new rear damper with the luggage on & what
have you though.
Well happy after a week on it, normally it's car 75% & bike 25%, this
week was 99% bike.
It is really f.cking heavy with the wingrack2 & full loaded set of
Givi, really f.cking heavy.
I realise most of you will have done more touring in one week, but to
use it for work, it's been a f.cking pleasure.
The most priceless moment was following a Ducati of 04 model year, the
rider clocked me & tried to outrun me, now i'm no racer on the public
highway, but they gave me the thumbs up at the next junction as they
had no chance of shaking me! The BEST thing was the noise once they
opened the Ducati up, it had fancy cans on & sounded like f.cking
heaven!

Bah, less than a mere weekend's riding.
My record is 2300 miles in a 4 day ride from Bedford to St Tropez and
back to Bedford...2-up with camping kit on a VF400F.

Well if we get down to Cornwall next year we'll have cut the John o'
Groats to Land's End time to under 8 years.

Quite. He should try a 1000 miles in a day.

My biggest daily mileage was under 500, though.
Home - Calais: 260
Calais - Frankfurt: 443 (703)
Frankfurt - Luxembourg: 191 (894)
Luxembourg - Home: 477 (1361)
I rode the Z200 in to work the next day, which was about 52 miles return.
So, comfortably over 1400, then, in 5 days.

I vote 1500 in a day (which I know we've moth managed) as that way it
keeps the riff-raff out.

I can't see how that could in any way be enjoyable.

To be honest, the journey does start to suck after 800 miles, and it's
just a case of trying to stay focussed, when you get the the final
destination it's wonderful though, everything just seems to be at peace,
perhaps 'cause the only things left in the bloodsteam at that point are
endorphins.
It's probably a bit like a runners high.

We had a similar experience riding back from Andorra to Barcelona at
night in October (not the mileage you are quoting, I admit). The
weather was bad so we couldn't exactly race back, and the mountain
roads were twisty and it was bloody cold. The local van drivers were
easily outdoing us, so we settled into a rythym and it still took over
4 hours, with both of us feeling quite dreamy when we got back
(probably frostbite :) )

In hindsight It would have been easier flying.

It's very easy to pick holes in though - a little work and it would
all just fall apart.
