everning all,

my google mojo is borked

I was attempting to find the post where the reason that the monotreme was
so named was revealed.
now I know you're all going to shout
" we could tell you but then we'd have to kill you "
but it was after watching some of the bikes on the Goodwood festival of
speed and seeing the " dustbin fairings " that I mentioned to SWMBO'd that
Platypus had one (1).
<cue strange looks>
who?
</csl>
I found the picture of the " attempt " of fixing said fairing but am still
at a loss as to why the moniker.
Your assistance with this quest would be much appreciated.

TBH we don't actually *have* to kill you, it just makes it more fun.

If I recall correctly platy did reveal this very information not so long
ago.  HTH.

I think we should let SD spill the beans - IIRC he responded with the
post of the century to RWS revealing his full name.

I found the earliest post from me on UKRM is May 1999 - I thought it
would have been earlier as I recall getting the usual top post lecture.

Anyway it appears I was foisting MZ crap on people; didn't seem to be a
massive take up.

I do actually know the answer to this 'cos I got it straight from the
horse's mouth, but if I told you I think Platy would have to kill me.
