No. I bought a vehicle on credit in June. Of course they try to flog you
insurance as it increases their profits. The unscrupulous may insist that
it is mandatory.

They do insist that the vehicle is comprehensively insured.

I've never seen a HP contract for a vehicle without a clause insisting on
comprehensive insurance. I used to sell vehicles, so I've seen a few from
different banks.

I checked my current one, issued by a HBOS subsidiary and it is very
clearly stated.

Was your last contract HP or a personal loan?

HP.

Can't remember a clause stipulating FC.

That said, maybe my credit rating and insurance record was good enough.

But I'm not  sure, now you press for details, so ICBW.

My 10R was purchased using an interest free loan and my KTM is on a
low interest rate loan. Both loans were done through the dealer and
financed by Black Horse, both were on specific bikes and neither
required me to have comprehensive insurance.
