Just bought that after seeing it listed in C4's 100 Films To See Before
You Die.
What a light-hearted, uplifting, life-affirming film...
All I need to do now is listen to Pink Floyd's The Wall for the last
push over the edge into complete black depression.
A good film, but absolutely devoid of any hope.

that's the point.
For something similar(ish-ish), from the same team (though it's not as
good) try "The Star".
For a "now for something completely different" moment in foreign film,
try "Le Diner De Cons".
