Well off topic this, but you never know with this place.

According to www.samknows.co.uk my local exchange (Solihull) supports
ADSL and ADSL Max.  It also has Sky LLU.

Now, the site reports that BT ADSL Max can give me 3Mbps and normal
ADSL can give me 1Mbps.

It doesn't say how quick Sky's LLU can go though.  Is there any way I
can find out?  It does say that LLU services can simply be a resale of
the BT IPStream product or their own but it doesn't say which is which
in the case of this exchange.

Is it likely Sky could provide a faster service than BT?

Not that I'm worried anyway as I have cable which Virgin have
helpfully bumped up to 10Mbps for free, but a chap from Sky came round
door knocking last night trying to flog it.

If you know your attenuation and snr numbers for the line it's easy to
estimate, but my guess is if you're only getting 3 on ADSL max it won't
be more than 7 on ADSL2+.

I've got know way of knowing anything because I've got a cable phone
line at the moment.

Too risky I think.

Absolutely. ADSL+ isn't necessarily any better than ADSL in some cases.
It all depends on the line length. As the LLU part which is the copper
from the DTE (digital telephone exchange) to your house would be the
same for all the LLU + BT offerings then the bandwidth will be the same.
All they do for LLU unbundle is to swap you over to another ISAM (DLAM)
in the DTE. Whoever you use will get the same properties.
