You could quite easily restamp the old frame with the new number. You
own both frames legitimately, so why not as long as you deface the
number on the old frame.
I think you have to score so many points on the parts swopping list to
be able to legally change a vehicle's frame number, much the same way
as when kit cars used to be registered on year related numbers.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Lozzo" <lozzo@lozzo.org.uk> saying
something like:

That's always been my take on it. There's no intention to deceive or
summat like that, despite some coppers sucking their teeth about it.
Of course, having the same frame numbers on five bikes and only one tax
disc between them would be pushing it a bit.

What make & model of bike is it? I have the reverse: doc's for bikes I
scrapped but couldn't be arsed to send off
