Someone posted a site ages ago that flogged ear plugs fairly cheaply. The site was fairly basic and they did a big variety pack so you could find out what suited your ears. Boots The Chemist do some decent ones (and some rubbish ones) if are in a hole and need them soonest, look for 3 pairs for £3 odds packs in a box, very dense compressible pink foam. They do tend to get grubby but with the frequency with which I lose them in the dark or they otherwise go astray, replacement invariably occurs before they become a hazard to aural health. I did once clean some by soaking them in neat TCP and let them dry out but they still smelled rank and a faint odour persists around them to this day. |
