Lozzo has taken to using genuine filters because they aren't much more
dosh than pattern and you know it'll be right. Having seen a report
some engineer bod wrote on oil filters a while ago, most pattern ones
with an apparently good reputation aren't at all well made or good at
their job. Besides, genuine ones are easier for me to get because
no-one round here stocks pattern anything anymore.
I'd happily use the Halfords oil in an unstressed low revving SV
engine, but for something revving to 18,000 rpm or my CBR trackbike
I'll always buy something a bit more well known like Putoline or Fuchs.

I believe in free speech, but I still have to pay my phone bill

Thank you for that.

Same here. Just as easy to get genuine Kawasaki filters off the shelf
for ?5 as send off for patterns. Don't really have the option for the
Guzzi.
SAAB OE is about the same as decent pattern makes so even the 1985 900
car gets genuine.
