It's mildly amusing, but nowhere near as funny as they think it is.

Do these guys ever get out of the house?

I'm sorry, I think it's hilarious. Maybe I'm just easily pleased.  I'll
ask Mrs Catman.

The event itself is mildly amusing, I'll grant you, but the reaction is
just so over the top (especially when once one gets a few pages in) that
you kind of wonder what else some of them have going on in their lives.

And there's no point asking a woman what's funny :)

Oh yes, I wasn't talking about the response, just the fuckwittery.

Indeed. I had no intention of asking here such a futile question.

<Reworks old platitude>

There is no such thing as a futile question.  There are only fatuous
answers.

I don't find it amusing even in the slightest. Someone was stupid -
it's not like that's something unusual.

I agree. The OP has an unusal sense of humour if he/she finds damaging a
bike funny. Perhaps he/she stands at a set of traffic lights and giggles to
hiimself/herself when they change colours.

I think the original post about the damage is just stupid, but some of
the responses are way, way f.cking cuntish [1].

[1] American humour, I guess.  ;)

I really don't get it - no seriously, can you give me an example.

All I can see is someone posted about his mate doing something stupid,
and everyone else is just saying "hey, that was stupid" or similar.

What's "way f.cking cuntish" about any of it?

Maybe I'm missing something.

They're all remarkably restrained aren't they? I'm confident I know what
most responses would have been had he asked the same question here.

Be fair - who'd want to admit to posting drivel like that? Apart from

I have a non-existent email address on here and I don't post under my real
name, so what's the difference? (apart from the fact most regulars on here
do actually know me)

The difference is he came in here as a complete newbie gobbing off -
you gob off, but at least we know you well enough to know you're not in
his league of wankiness.
