Hi all! Just bought my first Yamaha the last month, a brand new 2003 R1. Coming from a Ducati it´s a little different to say the least. Can´t say I don´t miss the 2 cyl engine.... Anyway, the speccs say 152 HP but what, approx., can I expect on the wheel? Don´t feel like spending an 100 bucks for a dynojet ride at this point. I can tell you that the rear wheel HP is approx 135 and the torque is way beyond the 748, even more in my opinion than my friends 998 or his RC51. I fitted a D&D slip-on after the first service that helped the top end but there is now a slight hesitation at 2000 that can be annoying at slow speed starts. Hope this helps. DD |
