dim lights

Could someone verify that a bad regulator will cause the lights to dim when
idling or using signal lights, but they will brighten up when you increase
the rpms. Or would it be the alternator?
This is on a 650 Yamaha maxim.  1982 model. Thanks.

either or. you need to test all the line vlaues with a vtvom
and a book of specs. you may also have a faul (ground) in a
line.
