Hi,

Two things.......Has anyone tried reusable motorcycle graphics and has
anyone removed the tank Yamaha emblem from a 650 classic?

How is it attached....Glue....That would be my guess as theses bikes
are built with cost containment in mind

Thanks,

Sam

Yes, I ordered the eagle and love it.  I didn't remove the VSTAR graphic, I
just applied to eagle over it.  You have to get really close to see there's
anything under it.

You apply the graphic with a blow dryer and it sticks like it was glued.
They guarantee it'll stay on at least one year.

I assume you're talking about those from cyclegraphics.com.

cheers

Yes Cyclegraphics.

There website is pretty poorly designed for anyone not on broadband.

But that's not important. I don't have a tank graphic I have a big
honkin' piece of plastic. I'm going to have to do some research on
this as I don't want the VStar logo and some semi-custom graphic.

Thanks for the reply!!

I'm told that those plastic ones are just glued on.  I've heard of two
different ways to remove them.  One was inserting some fishing line under it
and sawing away.  Others have told me that they just used a hair dryer,
loosened the glue and pulled it off.  Something like goo-gone will take off
the glue left on the tank.

I've gotten a lot of tips after joining the Star Riding and Touring Assoc.

My logo was a decal, clearcoated over.  I just covered it with the graphic.
Looks fine.

I was able to get a good look at the tank and emblem yesterday.
It really looks like it is on there with a double-sided stick tape.

In a few months I'll try both methods to remove it.

I tried joining the Assoc but never got the e-mail. I forgot they
existed. Perhaps I'll try again.

I have spent alot of time thinking about tank graphics and yesterday I
hit on just what the graphic is going to be an got in touch with
http://www.tapeworks.com/
and they are sending me some samples in the color choices I specified.

I'm going to have to start practicing my applique techniques. Yahoo!

I got the eagle from cyclegraphics.  I love it.  Most everybody thinks it's
painted on.  I think I'll clearcoat over it.

Mine went on pretty easily.

will come off with no damage to the paint
