I also have a 2002 Yamaha V-Max if you want to try that 113 inch motor against metric crap as you put it. I'll warn you that I've been riding Harleys for about 28 years and building them as long. If you even say the 113 inch motor will out run a V-Max your lying. The Max will run a low 11 second in the 1/4 mile all day long.

Then you must have had a slow Suzuki 1150. The average 1200cc V Max will top out at 135 MPH +. You might get that fast on a 113 Inch motor but I doubt it. Besides even from a roll the V Max is going to half track you to top speed.

You took a stock $17,000.00 motorcycle and added a $5,000.00 motor. So you now have a $22,000.00 motorcycle that a $9,000.00 motorcycle will kick it's a.s. Then we can go directly to I-74 and I'll finish this ridicules argument. By the way do I get to put $5,000.00 in the VMax motor first? Never mind, I've got Vance and Hines pipes, Web Cam performance cams, Wiseco pistons, ports are matched and cleaned up. That's all I need.
Pick a time I'm game. Should be an interesting race, my 1200cc bike against your 1850cc bike.
See where your screwed up is I like Harleys, I've got one and always have had one. But I know their limitations. So does Harley Davidson. Hence the V-Rod.

If you knew anything about a VMax like you say you do you'd know the higher the revs the harder they pull. Actually past red line. You don't have a chance.

Where you bracket racing or did the > other bike take you to school Brackets, I dialed in at 10.20 and he dialed in at 11.?? I don't remember exactly. I caught him and passed him with out breaking my time. I ran 10.42 ET. I pulled the quarter at 127 mph, If you notice I used all five gears. A stock V Max would loose to a CBR900, I didn't loose and I dialed in at a faster time. Trust me this thing flies from any gear at any speed. As soon as it hits 5,500 RPM in any gear it's gone. I have no idea how fast this bike will go. I've had it to 135 mph and it wasn't done yet, started getting light so I backed off. I'd estimate the top speed at 150 mph. I've never had a Harley stay near me from any type of race. Remember I ride with Harley guys for the last 25 odd years. This is my first Jap bike. I bought it and built it cause you can't build a Harley and thrash it while expecting it to stay together long. The V Max has 34,000 miles on it and 30,000 on the rebuild. I love my Harley but it has it's place. If you know anything about racing you know that there are Harley classes then everything else. There's a reason for that. Jap bikes clean up the tracks. I put maybe $1,800.00 in the motor after I got it. I did all but the cylinder work myself.

The Hines V-Rod is (or was, haven't been tracking results this year) well, until they took away the weight penalty for the 4bangers, and made the twins haul the same weight. Don't know if the V&H guys have recovered from losing that advantage yet or not.
That said, the performance of a V&H drag bike, on the strip, has little or no relevence to the performance of a random 113" stroker on the road. Especially as I doubt you are running nitromethane in yours...

buy the way I hope your talking 135 MPH is the top end of your v max not 1/4 mile speed...and yes i pull past 135 because the kawaski 1000 rev limiter is set for 135 and im right there when my buddy bounces off of it in top gear
