without getting down on your knees and trying to look through that little

I've had mine for over 3 years. Don't know of any other way.

Ray,
There is an extended mirror (for motorcycles) that you can buy. You can sit
on your seat, bring the bike up (to keep it level), then use the mirror to
see your oil level. Kind of a handy gadget. If interested, check some of
the sites that sell mortorcycle parts. accessories, etc....
