I have a 2005 XT with the stock tires on them..(front Bridgestone/TW27 Cheng
Shin..Back-Bridgestone/TW30) The bike only has 190km on it. It's seems hard
to control the bike on pavement, like they are not gripping. The front is
real bad..feels like it's just floating and any little pebble or crack
throws the tire off. I read on the net that new tires have a breakin period
and after this the tires should grip better. This was for some other brand
and size (not mine). Is the above true?
I had a dual sport in the past with knobbies on it, and there was no problem
like this. I do mostly pavement type riding..shall I get more street like
tires instead? Or will this problem go away?

Thats right, the Oe tires are usually crap on every bike. A friend of mine
on a BMW R1150GS Adventure manages to scrape his centerstand in the twisties
on knobby Metzlers. He said the Bridgestones that came on his bike were
total junk.
