I have put 14000 miles on my 05 V Star 1100 and I haven't adjusted the valves yet. Is this a no no? Neuman Obviously neither of you have read the manual. I think the interval for checking/adjusting the valves on most Yamaha's with shim type adjusters is 26,000 miles. The V Star may be screw and nut type, I'm not exactly sure. It says to check the valve clearance every 6000km, so every oil change.
