Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to put aftermarket ape hangers
with a diameter of 7/8 in on a 2000 vstar 650 if the stock bars on it
now are 1in ? Or, do the aftermarket bars HAVE to be 1" also? Thank
you much!

try it. easiest way to learn unless you can't return them.
main issue may be the cable length. will they reach? are
longer's available? and why the hell do you want to ruin
your handling? harley riders need them to keep thier
knuckles off the ground...but hey.

i did it on my bike with some oversized kong ape hangers. However the
ones i put on are a smaller diameter at the controls and the riser
area. I had the stock risers machined a bit so they would fit . they
have worked up great!
