Hey all...  Just wanted to pop in and say hello.  Longtime Honda
rider, looking for an upgrade to my 1976 Goldwing, and ran across a
1999 Venture 1300cc full dresser with 16,000 miles on it.  Took me all
of three days to get this thing off the dealers showroom floor and
into my garage..  Now...  anyone interested in a 1976 GL-1000
Goldwing?

those are cool with all the garbage stripped off and made
into a real bike. where are you and is it cheap enough?

Well, the 'Wing is stripped already.  No fairing, no bags, no trunk,
nothing but a frame, two wheels, and a 998cc engine, which...  when
tuned properly runs like a raped ape.  Roughly 32,000 miles on the
bike, the exhaust system has been removed to repair cracks in the
collectors, and to tell the truth, the guy doing the job has been
S-L-O-W...

Anyway..  I'm located in the Finger Lakes region of New York state,
and I'm very flexible on the cost of the bike.

That year, and for several more following, is a 4 banger.  Interesting
idea regarding the straight pipes...  Would at least have it available
for test rides, should someone want to check it out...

any decent muffler shop can fab them for you for short
money. the tips you get from j c whitney.
if you want to be classy, get the pipes chromed.
4 singles pipes look good, 6 look amazing.

Would have to do a collector manifold on each side and run single
right and left side pipes.  If I did two pipes on each side, would not
be able to arrange them vertically due to clearance issues, they'd
have to go side by side, which would look really tough, but would be a
burn hazard for any passengers...
