Are Yamaha warranty's transferable?

I'm looking at 2007 XT225 offered by a private seller and he says there's an
existing warranty.

did you have a lawyer who specilzes in that field of law?
you may pay more for legal help than the warranty is worth.

In the UK, the Yamaha manufacturer's warranty, (3 years), was
transferable to me when I purchased my used Yamaha Cygnus scooter, there
was even a section in the user manual for a change of owner's details,
in fact, I had a problem sorted by a Yamaha dealer whilst under
warranty, and without any hassle or cost to me.
