Exhaust Compatability

Is the factory exhaust from a 2001 v-star 650 compatable with the 2007
v-star 650?

Look it up and see what you figure out.

There are four 2001 v-star 650's, counting the California models, and
there are eight 2007 models.

If you find that two parts have the same basic number and different
dash numbers, it may just be some cosmetic surface finish.

OTOH, it might be some small PITA mechanical difference that affects
the fit...

Thanks. I've already been there and know that the part numbers are
different. I guess I'm seeking anyone who's a Yamaha mechanic or
anyone who knows by experience. And I forgot to specify that mines a V-
Star Classic.
