So after successfully switching my tank, my next step is to transfer my tank decal protector/sticker from my old tank to my new one. What is the best way to get it to stick and stay on the new tank? TIA

| new or used: a question of economy | 20 Nov 2008 12:23 GMT | 181 |
I've had 3 bikes in the 3 years of my riding life: 97 GPX250 - it had 20K on the clock when I got it - not ridden all that regularly. It had about 48000 when I wrote it off <blush> several months later.

| Robbed again | 20 Nov 2008 10:20 GMT | 45 |
This time the miserable bastards nicked my Honda tractor lawnmower 14 out of my 24 solar power system batteries, and numerous tools and such. I spent today chatting with the police and packing up what was left of

Was it just me, or were there NO reviews whatsoever this week? Dear oh dear. They usually manage at least one! Last week's USA special was good, though. --

Just had a text from Donald Deasy. The XT600E he had off me... ...well, someone else has had it off him. Nicked from his brother's gaff. They cut through two chains to take it, too. FFS.

| Where in Ireland to go? | 21 Nov 2008 03:08 GMT | 79 |
The mister and I are thinking of visiting Ireland next summer. We found an motorcycle rental outside of Dublin in Naas that rents almost any cycle for 110-190 Euros. We were thinking of a week or so tour around the island riding two-up.

If you spill Tabasco sauce on your fingers and don't wash them vigourously afterwards, do NOT wipe the corner of your eye with one of said fingers 30 minutes later. It smarts like a motherf..ker. That is all.

| XT600E electrics | 20 Nov 2008 22:26 GMT | 31 |
XT600E 1995, so sort of classic :-) Leaving work to come home last night in the dark and pissing rain, it got 100 yards up the road and stopped - engine and lights failed at the same time. Got back to it this morning, changed the main fuse, and it started

...I have unearthed this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250325410707 It's probably a good thing I'm not exactly rich at the moment, as I suspect the arrival of that would culminate with me being told to live in it.

| Polishing Chroming | 18 Nov 2008 19:57 GMT | 7 |
I paid a visit on recommendation to BT & G Midson Polishers and wow ! Ricardo is a genious of the polishing mop and loves to do stuff while you wait (did 2 hefty pieces of stainless for me), they were quite pitted and he wouldn't stop till they were right.

| MOT question | 16 Nov 2008 18:42 GMT | 5 |
I am having a slight problem with the Bantam Sport D14S. The exhaust turns down out of the cylinder then up, leaving a nice sump into which unburnt fuel/oil/crap settles, blocking the pipe and making it a pig to start if the fuel tap gets left on.

| A little light fettling | 16 Nov 2008 16:48 GMT | 1 |
After unsuccessfully trying to work out why the fog lights on the BMW aren't working, I found myself with an hour to spare (well, I either spared the hour or would take most of the fairing off the RT - easy choice).
