06 Goldwing Surging31 Jul 2007 13:52 GMT8
I have an 06 Goldwing, at a stop sign it will surge 200 or so rpm at an
idle.  this bike has 650 miles and the dealer says it normal for this to
happen.
I look at it as an engine that is fuel injected, and will drive most import
Honda Transalp goes to 4k rpm by itself31 Jul 2007 13:41 GMT12
I noticed that sometimes my Transalp spins up to and
stays at around 4000 rpm. That has happened both on
first gear and on neutral as well.
It looks like if i'm giving the bike gas (allthough i
Nice ride today31 Jul 2007 10:05 GMT4
A little hot and sunny at 91-93F, but a nice small group of 4 riders -
2 hardcore and 2 wannabes with an eclectic mix of bikes - VTX1800,
Kawa 1200 Sport Tourer of some kind, Goldwing, and a HD Ultra
Classic.
The Super Slab31 Jul 2007 07:45 GMT41
Imagine riding your scoot on a superhighway four football
fields wide. This is the proposed NAFTA corridor to run
from San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Winnipeg, Manitoba
through Laredo and Kansas City.

Not riding, instead accompanying mother and sister on "cruise tour" of
Alaska.   Need to come back up here on my bike ASAP.

V-Strom 1000 VS Electra-Glide (very long and boring)31 Jul 2007 06:54 GMT19
I bought a V-Strom at the beginning of the month to replace my pink
Vespa. There was an empty space in my garage. Here's what I found.
Comparison: V-Strom DL1000K7 vs Harley Davidson 2000 Electra-Glide

Can you believe it?31 Jul 2007 02:20 GMT44
The IT manager at work told me a (tall?) tale.
He was riding a highway one Canadian winter
on bare asphalt when he hit a patch of black ice.
Riders from warmer climes can see...
25mm Valve Shims Needed31 Jul 2007 01:28 GMT16
I am in the process of doing a valve adjustment on a Triumph 885 triple.  I
understand that all newer Triumph engines use the same valve shims, i.e.
the 25mm diameter.  I also understand that many Honda models use the 25mm
shims.  I have found online sites where I can get shims, but ...
What might be wrong with this bike?30 Jul 2007 23:41 GMT11
From a For Sale ad for a 1984 Honda CX650E:

downshifted on Highway 1 and knocking engine sound
  since then."
God I love this bike.30 Jul 2007 16:04 GMT13
This V-Rod has to be one of the funnest bikes I've ever ridden. It's as

It's kinda like riding a very solid, low slung version of my Norton, but
it's faster than sh.t and as s,ooth as silk. The engine runs smoother than

If you come up 395 watch out at the hotsprings, Hot creek near Mammoth has
been closed due to geo activity with sudden boiling outflows.
Out at Benton it's piped into tubs, so the temp is controlled.
I'm on the road in the AM, Colorado bound.

Does Honda/Acura Understand Customer Service?!!?30 Jul 2007 01:51 GMT6
Honda likes to advertise that they offer above average service... Acura,
prides itself on being the luxury division so one might expect luxury
service. But given the following set of circumstances, what do you
think?
