please flame easy if the answer to these questions is, as it was with
my aftermarket pipes question, as simple as a matter of taste rather
than fact ...

Put the Honda Shadow 600 up on the motorcycle/ATV jack (*) using hockey
pucks (*) to jack it on the frame only, then adjusted the chain (*), lubed
it, and adjusted the rear brake (*).  Actually used a torque wrench (*) with
a crowfoot extension (*) in the process.

Kid on a Duc had a minor crash up at Alices yesterday.

went over the bars while the bike slid and wedged under
a parked car.

A Great Day For a Ride28 Apr 2008 13:29 GMT5
After a ton of really crappy weather the sun finally came out, the ice
melted off the road and a few of us headed out for a short ride.
I threw out an invitation on a local riding forum to let folks know I
was going for a putt today. Nothing too ambitious, just a short ride
Honda Shadow hydraulic clutch problem28 Apr 2008 08:40 GMT7
I've got a 1996 Honda Shadow VT1100C.  I got it all ready to roll today, and
as I squeezed the clutch lever, it had no pressure to it whatsoever, and it
didn't function.  It is a hydraulic clutch system, so the first thing I did
was to check the master cylinder.  It had no fluid.  ...
My 1986 FZ600 won't start28 Apr 2008 02:22 GMT15
I have a 1986 Yamaha FZ600 and the battery would die as I would turn
it over. I put new spark plugs in it and charged the battery and low
and behold it fired up in a split second. It ran great and started
great until the next day. I went to go and start it and as I did it
Almost Broke My Darned Foot Today27 Apr 2008 23:23 GMT19
Turning into the gas station, had to stop for traffic coming out.  Turned in
at edge of ramp (near where curb starts), and because I had to stop for the
traffic, I had my feet off the pegs.  The toe of my right foot caught the
curb and rammed my heel into the frame (i.e foot ...
Reselling stock bikes with lots of aftermarket parts27 Apr 2008 02:47 GMT16
Just an observation... there is a guy selling an '03 VTX1800 for
$16,500. He's got $25K into the bike (counting the cost of the bike
itself).
New VTX1800's go for about $15,000 if bought locally or $12,000 if
Night ride27 Apr 2008 02:15 GMT6
Coming home on the Harley from the blueberry farm after dark ...
rolling down the old farm highway I hit a patch under construction --
new black asphalt, no painted yellow lines, no streetlights,
just inky darkness... sh.t I can't see a thing -- hope I'm heading
Scored a good one this week!27 Apr 2008 00:05 GMT2
I've been seriously considering a one piece textile suit for a good
while now and was going to pull the trigger on the Olympia Phantom next
week when the "incentive" checks come.  Well, last Friday, I found a
used Roadcrafter one piece for $200 on one of the forums I visit.  Yes, ...
