Changing Tire Brand30 Jun 2007 07:45 GMT11
As part of some needed service, I asked my dealer's service dept to
install a new pair of tires.  There was no discussion about type or
brand; I assumed I would get another pair identical to what the bike
came with when I bought it at the same dealer.

Poor Quality product
My son purchased a 110cc dirt bike from a distributor in WI with his own hard earned money on 7-4/06.
Anyone else have this problem?29 Jun 2007 20:16 GMT16
I went for a ride yesterday on my Kawasaki VN800B Classic. I was less than
two miles from home when I came to a four-way stop. I was still running a
touch of choke. The bike has just over 750 miles on it.
I began pulling away from the stop sign when the bike suddenly locks up,
Yamaha XS650 twin29 Jun 2007 18:10 GMT21
After a recent bout of twin-bashing on rec.motorcycles, I dragged out my old
XS650 parallel twin last night and took it for a ride.  The ride was good, I
enjoyed the sound from those skinny chrome mufflers even if the 650 corners
like a pig compared to the sportbike I usually ...
Yamaha XJ 550 Maxim carburetor issue29 Jun 2007 01:33 GMT7
I've been reading through the posts with the fellow having issues with
his XJ 650 carbs, and it sounded terribly familiar.  I've got an '81
XJ 550 Maxim with a sick carb and wouldn't mind a pointer if anyone
out there can help.

Wind beating.28 Jun 2007 17:35 GMT3
Why do different bikes wind you differently. My big 1400 pounds the sh.t
out of me with the wind. My my little Yamaha has no wind at all is is
pleasant to drive around. Both have the same size windshields. And I'm
talking about the same road speeds. As a matter of fact my 1400 now ...

Long warn up27 Jun 2007 07:50 GMT14
I have just bought a 2nd hand daelim VL 125 that clocked around
13500km. The bike is ok except it requires 5mins or more to warm up.
The engine will stall immediately when I engage 1st gear if warm up is
not sufficient.
Oil pressure / temperature gauge on Gold Wing27 Jun 2007 02:02 GMT2
Anybody know if there is a relatively not-too-difficult way to install an
oil pressure and/or temperature gauge on a 1989 Gold Wing 1500?
Carb Kit for a Kawasaki 12526 Jun 2007 07:11 GMT3
I've been tearing up the internet looking for a carb kit for this bike
(BS28 Mikuni) but have been unable to find one. Anyone know a website
that sells these things. Also, if you have any experiencing cleaning/
rebuilding these carbs, your two cents would be valuable.
Ran with gas in the oil, how much damage did I do?25 Jun 2007 22:29 GMT3
I have a 1995 Suzuki Savage 650, single cylinder.  It has a 3-position
fuel switch: ON (which automatically becomes OFF when the engine is shut
off), PRI ("Prime", which bypasses the automatic OFF), and REServe.
I had it parked in the garage all winter with the switch in what I ...
Tach for Honda CM450E25 Jun 2007 20:23 GMT13
I miss not having a tach on a bike, is there an aftermarket company
that makes a tach that would fit on my '84 cm450e?  thanks.
Best (most comfortable) saddle for Gold Wing 150025 Jun 2007 18:47 GMT3
The saddle on my 1989 GL1500 is getting pretty sad, and I would like
to replace it.
What is this august group's opinion of the most comfortable (for long
trips) aftermarket saddle available?
Re: fuel rail o-rings for 1979 honda 750 L25 Jun 2007 06:30 GMT8
Was wondering if anyone here knew of a place that had these besides
thehonda dealer...I am sure these aren't specific made o-rings for the bike.
I know honda sells them, but they are in kit form...I need 4 kits and at 30
bucks a kit... well you can do the math...... I want to ...
