Kawasaki KZ1000-B2 Alternator Rotor 10mm bolt torque31 Jul 2007 02:35 GMT3
I am in need of the torque spec for the 10mm flange bolt
that retains the alternator rotor to the crank in a
KZ1000B2.  I have a manual that covers the KZ900 which I
have and the very early KZ1000 with the 8mm bolt.  The crank
honda 90/chinese  90's28 Jul 2007 16:38 GMT18
I was in a Pep Boys (united states) the other day and on display there
was a pit bike with what looked identical in my memory to the honda
90cc  engine that at the time was in a honda s90. I'm unfamiliar with
who makes the chinese version but obviously it' a clone of the honda
Blinker kills engine27 Jul 2007 19:15 GMT33
This is driving me nuts. My blinkers work fine with the key on and
engine off. When it's running and I come to a stop sign; put my blinker
on and the engine dies. Starts right back up again. If I put the blinker
on while the engine is still revving before the stop it don't die. Once
Simple gas flow problem26 Jul 2007 20:05 GMT3
I have KZ400 and when I would try to start it up it would just dump
gas out of the carb. So, after doing some research I found out that it
was likely a blocked/dirty carb in need of cleaning. This past weekend
I took the carbs apart and gave them a good cleaning. But now I cannot
vinegar23 Jul 2007 11:08 GMT20
I read somewhere that filling a gas tank with vinegar and letting it sit
for some days would clean surface rust.  Also that putting some amount
of washing soda (not baking soda) would help.
Has anybody tried this?

What is normal temp for vstar 1100 heads? I know it is air cooled, but after
being on freeway at 70mph they will reach 291.
Mold release21 Jul 2007 23:42 GMT9
Does any one have any empirical evidence for the existence of new tire
"mold release" other than anecdotal folklore?

2 brushes or 4?21 Jul 2007 16:02 GMT2
I ended up pulling the starter on my KZ1000P to install a new manual
tensioner.. created more room. As long as it was off, I might as well put
the new starter brush rebuild kit I ordered a few weeks ago from Z1. I
pulled the starter apart and see two brushes... I open the rebuild ...
1991 Suzuki Katana 750 - known problems?20 Jul 2007 17:11 GMT49
I'm looking at buying a 1991 Suzuki Katana 750 in non-running
condition. The owner thinks it has electrical problems. I haven't seen
the bike yet (other than a picture). Are there any known major
problems with these bikes? Thanks.
what happened?19 Jul 2007 07:19 GMT22
I'm a first time poster with a '72 CB350.  I've had it for a few
months with no issues - carbs were cleaned, runs/idles like a champ,
starts right up, etc.
Last night I was riding and had to gun the engine at one point to
Suzuki GS450L, Starting problems.15 Jul 2007 22:21 GMT11
Thanks in advance for any advice you have.
I just bought a GS450L with the intention of fixing it up a bit -- the
electric seemed to work fine, but the carbuerators were off.  I've
cleaned the carbs, tested the battery, and double checked my

Problems with Honda STX1300 Fuel Injection / Electronics?14 Jul 2007 00:17 GMT5
Hi, Guys,
While doing some research on the STX1300 with the local mechanics,
I've learnt that there are many incidences of STX1300 with all kinds
of electronics related problem. One is the blinking of the FI warning
Suzuki GT380 Timing13 Jul 2007 15:35 GMT4
I just picked up a nice '74 GT380. I have set the point gap and
ignition timing turning the crankshaft counterclockwise as it rotates
when kicked over with kickstarter arm. This rotation viewed from the
righthand side of the bike looking directly at the timing plate. Now
CB750C carbs12 Jul 2007 13:51 GMT12
Friend got it cheap after it sat for five years, 31,000 kilometres.
Local technical school dis-assembled and cleaned carbs, swapped forks
from parts bike, changed oil & filter, adjusted valves, put in new
battery, front pads, new plugs and possibly wires (can't be sure - they
