Hi, I'm the proud owner of a GPZ600R from 1986 I believe. It was
sitting outside for about a year and was working before and now isn't.
So following have been tried so far:
* Fuel tank has been cleaned and refilled with fresh petrol

DR650 turn signals24 Jul 2008 22:33 GMT2
I would like to be able to have the turn signals on my DR650 on all the
time to aid in being a bit more visible by motorists. Of course, I would
want them to flash for turning. Wouldn't this be as simple as changing
the normally open flasher relay to a normally closed relay? Or is ...

1986 Shadow Idles OK but pops, sputters and hesitates with throttle advance23 Jul 2008 07:30 GMT8
I have cleaned both carb bowls and all the jets.  Fuel filter is OK and
fuel pump is pushing fuel thru gas lines.  Plugs look OK.  Air cleaner
is off, so there is no air blockage. Rubber carb intake boots are tight.
Why won't this bike rev up and run right at higher rpms???  ...
Shifting Problems20 Jul 2008 20:29 GMT1
I own a 1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic. Last week I was riding and heard
a clicking or rattling noise in 3rd gear. I parked the bike for several
days. I then rode it from my garage and after about 3 miles I am unable to
shift lower than 4th gear. I now only have 4th & 5th gears.
Electrical question19 Jul 2008 14:02 GMT46
It used to be in auto electrics that if you tried fixing a system by
swapping  components with known good ones, you ran the risk of making the
wrong choice and could end up frying the known good one (which was why there
was a No Return policy on certain parts I am told). I don't ...

windshield17 Jul 2008 12:37 GMT18
I am considering a windshield for my Hop Sing 250 for bug and weather
protection.  My first thought is that the windshield would improve the
overall aerodynamics, as it seems much more streamlined than my lumpy
body.  Is that right?  Will a windshield result in a slight

1986 Shadow:WHY WON'T IT STAY RUNNING?17 Jul 2008 01:04 GMT7
I drove my Shadow last fall.  It seemed fine.  Yes, it sat around all
winter, but I just drained all the old gas out at the fuel filter hose
(filter is not clogged BTW), put in fresh gas, removed air cleaner,
checked coil resistance (OK), have decent spark in at least one plug,

Gas Cap Gasket material?14 Jul 2008 18:14 GMT14
I've got a 30 year old honda with a twist-off gas cap.
Gasket is gone, so I made one from a piece of inner tube.
Worked great for a day until the rubber disintegrated.
Got some cork sheet from the auto parts store.  That worked
1982 Yamaha 650 - no start11 Jul 2008 15:41 GMT11
Good Evening!
My nephew called me last night. The bike he just bought won't start.
I'm going to try to help him get it going again, and thought I'd do a
little research first. I've read the posts related to no start
